Update on Madras and Delhi High court cases on Bank Pension issue.********Haryana Govt to provide employees Rs 3,000 annually.

Update of Madras High Court case :
It is reported that even on 30/07/2010, the case could not come up for hearing. The case was not found in the cause list of 2nd August, so there is no possibility of hearing on Monday.

There are reports that the IBA has filed a  petition for vacating the stay given by Madras High Court, but the same was not available either in the cause list of Madras High Court or from other sources.   A further probe also indicate that in the cause list of 02.08.2010,  a writ appeal has been listed with a Misc petition for suspending the orders.   This may be of IBA.

In case the above is true, then it is likely that the matter will be clubbed with the higher level writ petition filed by IBA at a Panel of Judges, for quashing of the application of  Canara bank employees, and vacating the Stay.  In that case this  petition is likely to come up for hearing on 2nd August, 2010, late afternoon.

Update on writ before Hon’ble Delhi High Court :
As scheduled, writ petition filed by Punjab National Bank Workers Union, Delhi came up for hearing before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court on 30.07.2010. Advocates representing IBA, AIBEA and NCBE were present in the Court. They objected the writ petition stating that union is affiliated with INBEF which is party to the settlement and has signed the settlement as such it is not open to the petitioners to challenge the settlement and writ must be dismissed. The Advocate on behalf of Workers Union stated that Settlement is neither fair nor just and has been entered into through misrepresentation of facts. After hearing both the parties, the Hon’ble Judge passed the orders directing Union of India to dispose of the points raised by Punjab National Bank Workers Union in its representation and writ petition within 10 days.
