Govt revises pay scales of research institute employees under ICSSR

Government has revised pay scale of the employees of the Social Science Research Institutes (RI) supported by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The revision is in accordance with the 6th Central Pay Commission. There are total 21 research institutes under ICSSR.

The  proposals  for  arrears  in  respect  of  revision  of  pay scales of employees  as submitted by ICSSR have been examined post-wise and pay scale wise keeping the base figures for pay revision pursuant to the 5th Central Pay Commission that was already extended to them.
The revised pay scales would be admissible to those employees who opt for these in accordance with the rules. Deduction on amount of PF, CPF, as the case may be, will be made on the basis of revised pay with effect from the date the employees opt for the revised pay scales.
The  pay  scales  and  allowances  (DA,  HRA,  CCA)  of  academic  and  non-academic employees of  the Research Institutes should be identical to those of the UGC in respect of the  faculty and  state/central  government  employees in  respect  of  non-academic employees prior  to  the  revision.
The revised pay scales will not be extended to employees where the pre-revised scales are not identical to UGC pay scales. It will not be applicable if employees who are enjoying the scales of  pay not approved by  the Government/ICSSR but have resulted from any personal promotion or career growth scheme, if any.
ICSSR is an organization that is funded by government which in turn supports the 21 Social Sciences Research Institutes (RIs).  These institutions are involved in research development.
