CPI Number released : 3.75% D.A. for Bankers, 6% for Central Employees

The much awaited figure is released by the Govt today. In a press release it is published that  All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of  December, 2010 increased by 3 points and stood at 185 (one hundred and eighty five).
Dearness Allowance for Bankers for Feb, Mar, Apr 2011 will be 25 slabs [3.75%] as per our calculation.
Central Government employees will get 6% D.A. with effect from 01.01.2011 and it will be 51% of the Total Pay, as per our calculation.
It may kindly be noted that IBA and Govt. of India are yet to declare the enhancement of Dearness Allowance and we will inform as soon as the official announcement is made as we are in the process of bringing out the news first for our viewers.

Jammu and Kashmir employees to gherao secretariate


The Employees Joint Action Committee, fighting for the full implementation of the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission and other demands, on Saturday said that its plan to gherao the civil secretariat on Tuesday was unchanged, and warned the government of intensifying its agitation if promises made to the unions were not fulfilled.

BEML signs productivity-linked wage settlement with staff


BEML Limited, the Bangalore-based defence PSU, has concluded wage settlement with its employees unions at Bangalore, Mysore, KGF complexes and marketing division at the corporate office in Bangalore.
The settlement, signed in the presence of labour commissioner, will be in force for a period of ten years with retrospective effect from January 1, 2007 and around 9,382 employees would benefit from it, the company said in a statement.

The CPI-IW for December, 2010 will be released on the last working day of the month, i.e. 31st January, 2011.
 The hike of D.A for Central Govt. Employees with effect from 01.01.2011 and Bank Employees for Feb, Mar, Apr 2011 will be know then. 
But still we have gathered information from our own source and calculation and predicted that well in advance in this blog.

10% DA for Himachal Pradesh Employees


Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal Tuesday announced the release of dearness allowance (DA) for government employees and pensioners to mark the completion of four decades of attaining statehood.
Speaking at a state-level function at Hamirpur town, some 175 km from here, Dhumal announced the release of 10 percent DA, effective from July 1, 2010.
‘The employees will get DA in cash from January 2011 and arrears would be credited in their general provident fund accounts,’ he said.

High Court ordered pension parity to LIC pensioners.

The Rajasthan high court has come down heavily on the "inaction" of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) for not adhering to its board resolution to pay equal pension to all the retirees across the country irrespective of their date of retirement.
The division bench of Justices Dalip Singh and Mahesh Bhagwati directed LIC to give effect to its board decision dated November 24, 2001 to revise the pension and Dearness allowance ( DA) payable to its retired employees corresponding to the successive revisions of the pay scales that took place in 1986, 1993, 1997, 2002 and 2007 respectively.
The court verdict is bound to effect thousands of retired personals of LIC across the country.

AP Government accepts demands of agitating employees

Hyderabad, Jan 23 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today brought the curtains down on the ongoing agitation by its employees and teachers by accepting most of their demands, including filling up of vacant posts.

Pension Revision of Pre-2007 BSNL Retirees


Unconfirmed reports have been received that the Cabinet in its meeting on 20th January has cleared the Pension Revision of pre-2007 BSNL retirees. As per the 20th April Strike agreement reached between  Joint Action Committee and Communications Minister, the Cabinet Note on this issue has been submitted to the Cabinet a few weeks earlier.On contacting the Member (Services), Telecom Commission, he informed that the matter can be confirmed after getting the decision from the Communications Minister.The concerned retirees will be getting the Pension Revision from 01-01-2007.

"Huge hike in IIM pay" : Proposal being examined in HRD ministry


The Centre is weighing a controversial proposal to finance faculty salaries at the new IIMs that are three to four times higher than what top government teachers and scientists are now paid.
Critics have described the proposed monthly salaries of Rs 3-4 lakh as “absurd” and discriminatory.
The salary proposal has come from R.C. Bhargava, the chairperson of IIM Ranchi, which is one of the four new Indian Institutes of Management set up last year.

PMPML to give interim benefit to workers

The PMPML board of directors on Friday agreed in principle to give interim benefit to the employees who have demanded that the recommendations of the sixth pay commission be implemented.

It is known that Dearness Allowance is linked with CPI. If the Cost Price Index of December 2010 remains same as November 2010, the increase will be 2.93%.
If the CPI touches 185 figure for the month of December 2010, the D.A. will be 3.78%, taking the figure to 49.98%.
It may kindly be noted that it is only an assumption and the final figure is expected to be published in the end of January by the Labour Bureau. So Bankers, kindly be patient.

Andhra govt employees threaten to intensify agitation

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of government employees in Andhra Pradesh today threatened to intensify their ongoing stir if the state government failed to invite them for talks by tomorrow evening.
"This government does not care a bit even if the employees are on strike. More than what we get, we want to protect the system of government employees. If the government does not invite us for talks by tomorrow, we will go on an indefinite hunger strike," JAC leader K Swamy Goud told reporters.
The government employees in the state are on a strike since yesterday for various demands including hike in House Rent Allowance, provision of health cards without the involvement of insurance companies and speedy promotions among others.

Karnataka approves AICTE scales in private aided engineering colleges

Karnataka cabinet approved implementation of 6th Pay Commission recommendations for the teaching staff of the private-aided engineering colleges.
Briefing newsmen after a cabinet meeting here, Karnataka Minister for Higher Education Dr V S Acharya said the implementation would benefit teaching staff in 19 such colleges in the state. This would result in a burden of Rs 79 crore per year on the exchequer.
He said the new pay scales would be paid with effect from April 1, 2006, as per the AICTE guidelines.

W.B. electricity employees to get 2nd installment of pay arrear this month

Employees of two state owned electricity companies, WBSETCL & WBSEDCL (formerly West Bengal State Electicity Board) are going to get their much awaited pay commission arrear this month , with the pay of January. The second installment was payable well before, March 2010 but due to paucity of fund, the disbursement is delayed for nine months. Approximately 27000 employees are going to get their arrear while the 18000 (approx) pensioners will get their dues with the pension payable in the month end. The Govt. will have to shell out about 198 crores for this disbursement.

The Minister of Railways, Mamata Banerjee has extended, for the first time, the facility of 3AC travel with family once in a year for the lowest grade pay employees of Indian Railways. These are the employees like Gangman, Khalasi etc. who work day and night to provide train services to our customers throughout the year in the most difficult situations. They will now have facility to travel once in a year with family in 3AC class on Indian Railways.

Grade Pay 4200 & Above 2 A Privilege Pass
Grade Pay 2800 3A Privilege Pass
Grade Pay 1800, 1900, 2000, 2400 one set out of three sets of Privilege Passes will be 3A
Grade Pay 1900, 2000 & 2400 will get 3 A Duty Pass while travelling on duty.

Kerala formed cabinet committee to examine pay revision report, likely to approve all recommendation.

The Kerala cabinet today set up a sub-committee headed by Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac to examine proposals of a pay hike for government staff submitted by the Ninth Pay Commission.
This was announced by State Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan during a cabinet briefing.

Clarification regarding Children Education Allowance for Central Employees.

Subsequent  lo  issue  of this  Departmen1  OM  No.  1201 l  3 1008-Estt  (Allowance)  dated  02/09/2008  and  clarificatory  OMs  dated  11/11/2008, 23/11/2009  and  OM  No.  12011/16/2009-(.AlIowance) dated  13/11/2009  on the Children Education Allowance  (CEA) Scheme, this  department has  been receiving  references from various Departments, seeking further clarification regarding the admissibility regarding the Govt. servant retires/dies during the academic year. Doubts were raised regarding meaning of two sets of uniform/upper age limit of the student etc.
DOPT has issued clarification No. 12011/08/2010-Eslt. (AL) Dated 30.12.2010 in this regard.

Central Govt. employees are likely to get 6% D.A. from January 2011

Whatever the price of onion is, the D.A will not be as sweet as July last year.
As per the All India Index published by Labour Bureau, Govt. of India the Dearness Allowance payable to the Central Govt.staff with effect from January 2011 may not be more than 6 percent.

Clarification from DOPT dated 30.12.10 regarding Child Care Leave to C.G. staff.

In response to different queries regarding Child Care Leave, DOPT has issued O.M. No. No.  1301 8 /1/2010-Estt. (Leave) Dated 30.10.2010 and clarified certain doubts.
