Kerala Cabinet Special Meeting : Eight PSU to get pay hike,Temporary PSU staff to be permanent.

In a haste to make populist decisions before the announcement of poll and subsequent existence of model code of conduct , the Kerala Cabinet in a special meeting approved the following popular issues.


Cabinet also decided to implement wage revision in eight public sector units including Travancore Titanium Products Ltd, Traco Cables, Steel Industries, Coir Corporation, United Industries Ltd and Bamboo Corporation, he said.


The Cabinet has decided to make the temporary appointments of 1919 people with 10 years of service in public sector undertakings permanent. The Government will also create 271 more posts in municipalities following the merger of grama panchayats.
The Govt has approved the auction amount of Malabar Ports for Ponnanni harbour development. The govt will exchange 2 hectares of land at Kollam for lease with the Central Information and Broadcasting Department for setting up Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
It has been decided to leave the recruitment of Assistant Public Prosecutors to the PSC. Village Courts would be set up in 30 blocks. The Chief Minister also said that for the Vizhinjam project Rs 1490 crore would be borrowed from the banks’ consortium.
The SEERT recommendations have been approved to make Malayalam mandatory as first language in all schools in the state. Rs 2 lakh solatium for the kin of victims who died in the school van mishap at Parvathy Puthanar canal has also been sactioned, VS said.
In the earlier Cabinet meeting , it has cleared the pay hike proposal for state Govt. employees of which Govt. order is believed to be already issued , but despite all out efforts, we are yet to procure any copy of the same. It will be posted as soon as available.
