Bihar University, College staff to go on mass leave today

More than 33,000 non-teaching staff of universities and colleges in Bihar shall remain on mass casual leave and hold demonstration at their respective university headquarters on Tuesday to press their pending demands. The call for this action programme has been given by the Bihar State University and College Employees Federation.
The Federation leaders -- Bimal Prasad Singh and Ganga Prasad Jha -- deplored the alleged apathy of the state government towards employees genuine demands. Even though the government has accepted all their demands through various agreements in the past, the demands remain unfulfilled so far.

The main demands of the Federation include proper implementation of the sixth pay report, employment to the kin of the deceased employees on compassionate grounds and representation to the employees in university bodies.
