Journalists warn agitation if new wage not notified within 16th June.

Bhopal, Jun 10 (PTI) : Agitated over the delay in the notification of Majithia Wage Board recommendations, members of the fourth estate here today protested against the Centre.
Bhopal unit of media Workers Union along with MP Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangthan demonstrated at the Patrakar Bhawan demanding immediate notification of the Wage board recommendations.
The journalists and non-journalist staff are agitated as the government is delaying the notification of wage board recommendations due to the pressure from the newspaper owners, Federation of PTI Employees Union Council Member, Manish Shrivastava and PTI Workers Union's Bhopal Unit General Secretary M S Hasan said on the occasion.
They warned that if the recommendations of the Wage Board are not notified till June 16, the journalists and non-journalists will be compelled to hold a nation-wide agitation.
The journalist bodies also termed as misleading the argument put forward by the newspaper owners that if the wage board's recommendations are implemented, the newspaper industry will get into trouble while the fact is that in the last 15 years their profits have jumped manifold.
