30 days' adhoc bonus for Uttar Pradesh employees

The U.P. government has decided to provide 30 days ad hoc bonus to the state employees before Dussehra festival. According to official sources here today, about 1.4 million state employees would receive bonus with a maximum limit of Rs 3,500.
However, 50 per cent of the bonus will be deposited in the GPF of the employee while the remaining amount would be given in cash. The proposal of the bonus to be given to the employees, whose grade pay do not exceeds Rs 4,800, was approved by the state Cabinet here yesterday. Almost all the state employees, including government teachers,local bodies and panchayats would be eligible for this bonus, but it would not be paid to the employees against whom departmental enquiry or other criminal case is pending. The state government has simplified the procedure of payment of pension to the ex-state employees, besides now nine lakh state employees would receive their salary directly in their bank account. Officials said now the pensioners would get their pensions from the banks and they do not need to go to treasury now. Similarly, the state employees would also receive their salary directly in their bank account.
