The union cabinet is likely to discuss CBDT cadre review and accord sanction for a massive cadre review and restructure exercise of Income Tax dept. Under the proposal, there will be 19000 additional posts to be created in a span of two years, out of which about 800 will be IRS officers. This cadre review exercise, if approved will definitely improve the promotional aspects of the employees as well as scope for direct recruitment.
