Bank D.A. to increase 48 slabs for the quarter Nov'13 to Jan'14

Our earlier  Projections of 48 slabs increase in Bank Staff DA is exact now. 
                       Labour Bureau,Ministry of Labour & Employment,Govt.of India has released the All India Consumer Price Index Numbers (IW) Base 2001=100 for the month of September’13 today which stood at 238   points with an increase of 1 point compared to August’13.
                      Accordingly the confirmed average CPI-IW (Base 1960=100) for the quarter will be as follows:

September                            238                                      5432.56            

                 Thus the DA payable for Bank Staff for the quarter November’13  to January14 will show an increase of 48 slabs @ 96.15   % (Increase of 7.20% from existing 88.95%) as per details furnished here under:-

Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) September 2013

According to a press release issued by the Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment the All-India CPI-IW for September, 2013 rose by 1 points and pegged at 238 (two hundred and thirty eight). On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.42 per cent between August and September compared with 0.47 per cent between the same two months a year ago.

CBEC Cadre recast only if it meets tax collection target

The indirect tax (excise, customs and service tax) target for 2013-14 is R5.65 lakh crore.
Given that achieving the tax revenue target is critical to keeping the fiscal deficit within the budgeted level of 4.8% of GDP, the cabinet secretariat has told the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) that the proposed cadre recast of CBEC officials hinges on the board hitting the tax collection figure set for this fiscal. The indirect tax (excise, customs and service tax) target for 2013-14 is R5.65 lakh crore.
The cadre restructuring promises better career prospects for CBEC’s 20,000-strong staff and more secretary-level jobs in the department.

CBEC cadre review update as on 28.10.2013

It is learnt that the draft Cabinet Note prepared by the Board and sent, after the Finance Minister  approved the same,  to the Ministry of Law, the Deptt of Expenditure and the DoP&T for their comments,  will be sent latest by 05.11.2013 to the Union Cabinet.  

Andhra increases Dearness Allowance from 1.7.13, Issued order

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday sanctioned dearness allowance of 8.56 per cent from July 2013 to all the government employees, pensioners and village establishment staff in the state.
About 14 lakh current and former employees will benefit by the decision. The increased allowance will be paid in cash alongwith the October salary, an official release said here.
The financial implication will be Rs 2,396.22 per annum. Arrears of DA from July to September 2013 will be credited to the GPF accounts.

Outcomes of the Meeting on 7th Pay Commission

Central Government invited the National Council Standing Committee members for discussing the Terms and reference for the 7th Central Pay commission. A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Secretary, DOP& T on 24.10.2013 at 1500 Hrs at North Block. Staff side Members, National Council JCM  Standing Committee, have attended this Meeting. On behalf of Staff side the fallowing suggestion has been given to the Central Government
  •  Government of India should come out with their proposal on Terms and Reference and then Staff side will    give their proposal.
  •  All anomalies pending including MACP to be settled.
  •  One Labour leader to be included in the commission.
  •  All pending cadre Review proposals should be delinked from 7th CPC.
In its response to the above suggestion the Central Government assured that, after consulting the Ministry of Finance, the proposal of Draft will be given to all the Federations for discussion

With Diwali round the corner, Punjab Government on Friday gifted bonanza for its employees announcing the much-awaited eight per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to State Government employees and pensioners which was due from January 2013.

UTTARAKHAND ANNOUNCES10% DA HIKE FOR STATE GOVT EMPLOYEES

Following the demand of State Government employees, the State Government has given 10 per cent increment in dearness allowance for State employees. Besides this, an ad hoc bonus for 30 days has been approved for State workers and casual/daily wage workers of aided educational and technical institutions. Besides it, chief minister has announced Rs1,000 bonus to the Aaganwari and Asha workers on Thursday.

Andhra to announce bonus soon

Chief secretary PK Mohanty assured Secretariat employees that the government would try to announce bonus before Diwali. Both Telangana and Andhra employees jointly called on the chief secretary on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters later, Secretariat Telangana Employees Forum president Narender Rao and Secretariat Seemandhra Employees Forum president Murali Krishna said they got an assurance that the government would give bonus before Diwali.
They said they also wanted Pay Revision Commission chairman PK Agarwal to give 45 percent interim relief to the employees. They demanded a minimum basic pay of `16,000, with a fitment of 75 percent on existing pay scale.

Tripura to seek funds to introduce new pay scales

Tripura government would urge the 14th Finance Commission to sanction funds for introducing a new pay scale for state employees and pensioners at par with the central government during the Commission's visit to the state next month. 

State Finance Minister  Mr Chowdhury said today that the full team of the 14th Finance Commission led by its Chairman, Y V Reddy would visit the state from November 12 to November 14.

Tamilnadu annnounces Diwali bonus to 3.50 lakh govt PSU staff

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today(21/10/13) announced Diwali bonus and ex-gratia for the year 2012-13 to 3.50 lakh employees working in various government PSUs involving a total expenditure of Rs 240 crore. A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat in which ministers, secretaries and officials of various departments participated.

Diwali bonus for Goa govt employees by this month-end

Panaji, Oct 23 (PTI) Despite loss in revenue due to ban on mining exports, the Goa government has decided to give Diwali bonus to government servants by this month end.The bonus would be given to around 45,000 government servants before Diwali, a senior state finance department official told PTI today.
Diwali will be celebrated on November 3.
He said that there are total 60,000 government servants employed but only 45,000 are eligible for the benefit of bonus according to rules.

Cashless treatment by CGHS under threat

Over 45 lakh employees of Central Government and Public Sector Agencies are expected to be deprived of medical facilities as the Corporate hospitals across the country have threatened to stop cashless treatment from January 1, 2014. Protesting against "unviable" rates being given to them under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) (AHPI) has said that it will give three months' time to the Government to revise the rates.

"Another round of bipartite discussions was held today (11-10-2013) in Mumbai between IBA and UFBU on our demands for wage revision. IBA was represented by its Core Committee led by Shri R K Dubey, CMD, Canara Bank and UFBU was represented by all the Nine Constituent Unions.

Cyclone to hit Andhra, Odisha coast between 6 and 8 PM

New Delhi, Oct 12 (PTI) As cyclonic storm Phailin moved closer to Odisha and Andhra coast, the MET department today said with wind speed of 210-220 kmph, the tides could rise up to 3.5 meters and sea water could enter 300-600 meters in land.
According to latest reports, the cyclone is 200 km off the Gopalpur coast which will be the centre of the cyclonic system.

Punjab pay arrears : HC in favour of state, employees disappointed

In a judgment with wide-ranging ramifications, the Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday, after considering Punjab’s “grim financial health”, upheld the state government’s decision to grant upgraded pay scales — over and above the general pay conversion table — to its employees with effect from October 1, 2011, against the 5th Punjab pay commission’s recommendation of granting it with effect from January 1, 2006.

Bank 10th BPS : No breakthrough in 11th Oct negotiation

As scheduled the talks between IBA and Bank Unions (UFBU)on 10th Bipartite settlement held at Mumbai yesterday.
   In Meeting held on 11th October IBA has not come out with any proposal on wage increase as assured in last meeting. Other issues are discussed. UFBU calls for demonstration on 22nd October in all state capitals and major centres demanding early wage revision.

Flash News : It is learnt that the cabinet note has been approved by F.M. It will be placed before the cabinet shortly for approval.

It is learnt that cabinet note has been sent to F.M for his approval. F.M., currently on foreign trip, likely to approve it very soon and the proposal will be sent to cabinet for final approval. If everything goes right, the proposal may be cleared by the cabinet within a couple of weeks. Please be in touch for further updates.

Maharashtra increases D.A. by 10%

Maharashtra Govt. hiked D.A. by 10% for state employees and pensioners with effect from 1st July 2013. With this increase, total D.A. will reach 90%, same as the central staff..From October onwards, the enhanced D.A. will be paid with the salary and the arrears from July to September will be given separately in cash.

Bihar and Odisha employees get 10% D.A., Order issued

Odisha govt declares 10% DA hike for its employees and pensioners
 Odisha government declares 10% DA hike for its employees on the occasion of Durga Puja. DA reaches 90%. The enhanced rate of DA would be effective from July 2013.  Nearly 4 lakh employees and 3 lakh pensioners will get the benefits of Dearness allowance hike. The employees and retired persons would get the increased salaries and pensions respectively along with their regular payment for the month of October. Following with the Central Government, the Odisha Government has decided to grant one more additional dose of Dearness allowance to its employees.  The state government employees, who were getting 80 per cent DA, would now get 90 per cent DA. -

Bihar's staff, pensioners' dearness allowance up 10%
In what appeared to be a festival gift to Bihar Govt. employees and pensioners, the state cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to increase their dearness allowance (DA) by 10%, thereby making it on a par with central government employees - with effect from July this year.

The state employees will thus get 90% DA which will calculate to an additional financial burden of Rs 850 crore annually.

State cabinet secretary Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters soon after the two-hour cabinet meeting that the cabinet also approved the revised proposal of the building construction department to build an international convention centre and civilization gate near the Gandhi Maidan at an estimated cost of Rs 490 crore. The convention centre, Gyan Bhavan, will have a seating capacity of 5,000 people. The construction work will start next month after the demolition of some existing bungalows of district judge and civil surgeon, he said and added the estimated cost of the project was earlier Rs 274.2 crore.

The cabinet also approved the public holiday list of Bihar government and its affiliated offices for the year 2014. It OK'd 11 holidays in government offices (barring three holidays on Sundays) under its executive orders, including the birth anniversary of Kabir. It also approved 17 holidays under the NI Act (barring two holidays on Sundays).

Karnataka hikes D.A from July'13. Issued order

Karnataka enhanced Dearness Allowance @6% on revised pay scales with effect from 1st July 2013. This will also hike the Dearness Allowance payable to pensioners. With this hike , total D.A. comes to 15% of Basic Pay. The amount of arrears will be paid in cash.

Bonus order issued for Central Autonomous Bodies, Railway and Postal employees

Order for bonus for the F.Y. 2012-13 has been issued.  Central Autonomous Bodies will get Ad hoc bonus equal to 30 days emolument, same as Central employees who get non productivity linked bonus.
Railway employees to get 78 days' bonus (which will be Rs 8975/-) as productivity linked bonus.

The Union Cabinet today (03/10) approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways for payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days wages for the financial year 2012-13 for all eligible non-gazetted railway employees.

Railway Bonus likely to be decided on cabinet meeting on 03.10.13

The union cabinet likely to consider productivity linked bonus for Railway employees for the financial year 2012-13 on 3rd October 2013. 
It is also know from union sources that Hon'ble Minister For Railways has approved the case of Cadre Restructuring for Railway Employees.
Railway Minister has also approved the Upgradation of 3000 posts of Apex Grade in Group C to Group B. Case has been sent to Ministry of Finance.
