Bihar govt raises DA by 6 per cent for workers

Patna, Apr 28 (PTI) Bihar government today hiked the Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees and pensioners by 6 per cent to 125 per cent with retrospective effect from January 1, 2016.

Brajesh Mehrotra, Principal Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, informed that a decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

With the latest hike, the DA of the state government employees and pensioners has jumped to 125 per cent. The DA hike will put an additional burden of Rs 842 crore on the state exchequer, he told reporters here.

Central government employees' wait to get higher salaries under the 7th Pay Commission will be over in two months.
As per a CNBC-TV18 report, hefty payouts are likely to happen between early June and late July this year.

Quoting government officials, the report said that the Empowered Group of Secretaries will likely to accept the pay commission's recommendations on salaries and pension payouts.
It may be recalled that the government had set up a high-powered panel headed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha to process the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission which will have bearing on the remuneration of 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pensioners.
The implementation of the new pay scales is estimated to put an additional burden of Rs 1.02 lakh crore on the exchequer in 2016-17. Subject to acceptance by the government, they will take effect from January 1, 2016.

No arrears likely on allowances
The Central government employees will have to wait till September-October to get higher salaries under the 7th Pay Commission.
As per a Financial Express report, government is expecting that higher salaries released around the festival period starting with Durga Puja and Diwali will boost consumption, which will have a multiplier effect on the economy. 
Though the employees will get arrears with retrospective effect from January 1, no retrospective arrears in allowances will be given. With the move, the exchequer would be able to save around  Rs 11,000 crore.

Haryana CM announces financial bonanza for state employees

Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today announced a bonanza of incentives for state government employees, which included increase in Medical Allowance, dearness allowance and quick implementation of report of G. Madhvan Committee regarding pay anomalies.
The Chief Minister, who held a meeting with office bearers of Sarv Karamchari Mahasang, here today, said that apart from this the demands put up by them would also be consider sympathetically.
An official spokesman said that the Medical Allowance of the employees would be increased by 10 per cent. The Dearness Allowance would be increased by 6 per cent thus making it 125 per cent as against the existing 119 per cent. This would put an additional burden of Rs 315.34 crore per year on the state exchequer.
He said that the Chief Minister has decided to soon implement the report of G. Madhvan Committee on pay anomalies of the employees after studying it. A committee would also be constituted to remove pay anomalies of the employees working in various Boards and Corporations of the government.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government has already made a provision of 4000 crores in the budget to implement report of the 7th Pay Commission. As soon as the Central government implements it, the state government will follow the same promptly. The employees of the Boards and the Corporations would also be benefitted.

Centre mulls including cruise tours under LTC

Mumbai, Apr 15 (PTI) Aiming to increase cruise tourism, the Centre is mulling to include vacations on luxury ships under the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) scheme where government employees get their travel costs reimbursed.

"We are looking at including cruise tours under the LTC scheme. Employees can go on cruise ships at government expense," Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Suman Billa said during a session on tourism at the Maritime India Summit here today.

Rajasthan announces six per cent hike in DA for govt employees

Rajasthan government today(14/04) announced six per cent hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees. Dearness Relief (DR) for the pensioners has also been increased by six per cent. The DA hike would be effective from January 1, 2016, a release said. The prevalent DA of the state government employees was 119 per cent and has been increased to 125 per cent of the basic pay.
Nearly eight lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners would be benefited by these hikes, it said. DA hike would also be applicable for employees of the Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads, among others. The increased DA would be paid in cash from April 1

Empowered committee may recommend 15% more hike in 7th CPC salary

As per a popular and reliable website "The Sen Times ", Group of secretaries may recommend 15% more hike over and above the 7th CPC report.
"The Sen Times has learned an average increase of 15 percent pay of central government employees more than Pay commission recommendations, is likely to be suggested by the group of secretaries, who is examining the 7th Pay Commission report."
"The group of secretaries is likely to increase the minimum entry level salary of a government employee to the range of Rs 20,000 to 20,500 against Rs 18,000 recommended by the Commission headed by Justice A k Mathur who submitted the report in November this year.
Consequently, it would push up employees’ 15 percent basic pay hike at the all levels beyond the Seventh Pay Commission report."

Jammu and Kashmir employees to get 6% D.A. from July 2015

The Cabinet which met here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti approved the release of Dearness Allowance installment @ 6% of pay, raising the total Dearness Allowance of the State Government employees from 113% to 119%, with effect from 1st July, 2015.
The arrears on account of additional installment from July, 2015 to 31st March, 2016 shall be credited to the individual GPF accounts of Government employees and shall form part of the monthly salary from there onwards.

Dearness Relief for Central pensioners from January'16 : Order issued

"The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department's OM No. 42/10/2014-P&PW(G) dated 28th September, 2015 on the subject mentioned above and to state that the President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Relief (DR) payable to Central Government pensioners/family pensioners shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 119% to 125% w.e.f. 1st January, 2016."

Govt. is considering to withheld 50% of 7th CPC hike

The government is considering an innovative proposal under which 50% of increased salary of higher-income government staff under the Seventh Pay Commission will be compulsorily invested in bank capitalisation bonds. The proceeds will be used to recapitalise banks without additional pressure on the fisc. While this will result in less cash in the hands of higher-income employees, as a sweetener they will get income tax rebate on the amount invested.

Central D.A. order wef 01.01.2016 issued. Download Order

Dearness Allowance payable to Central Govt. employees with effect from 01.01.2016 with a 6% hike, order issued by Finance ministry today.
With this total D.A. stands to 125% and probably the last hike in the sixth CPC regime.
The next hike may be expected with new scale as per 7th CPC.

Minimum pay under 7th CPC likely to be revised to Rs 20,000; award to come with increment bonanza

The central government employees seeking revision of salary structure proposed under the 7th Pay Commission are likely to see around 19 percent raise on the minimum salary being drawn currently. The Cabinet nod to the effect is expected in June.
