OFFICIAL GAZETTE NOTIFICATION

The Gazette Notification on sixth pay commission can be downloaded from the following link
http://pib.nic.in/archieve/others/2008/aug/6th_payNotification.pdf

Most surprisingly it matched almost hundred percent with the unofficial gazette published in the blog earlier.

Hi friends,

I have seen the Government Gazette notification and latest arrear calculations are available at the following site

Helpful indeed.

In self-explanatory.
I was surprised to see the calculation
Illustration 2: Fixation of initial pay in revised pay structure of medical officers
1st my question was how they say the NPA on 01/01/06 was Rs.4063
and DA on 01/01/06 was 24% on the basic pay of Rs.10000.

In the basic pay of Rs. 10000 the NPA should be the Rs.2500
On 01/01/06 DA was 74%(50%+24)
50% merged with basic pay as DP
so, revised calculation for fixation of pay in the pay band as approved
by the Govt. by adding 86% with basic pay instead of 74% as recommended
by 6th pay commission.

For fixation of pay for employees, recommended by 6th pay commission
i.e. basic pay+DA on 01/01/06 (50%+24% = 74%)
but due to merged of 50% DA with basic pay as DP
so, that (basic pay +DP) act as a new basic pay
24% DA was calculated on that new basic pay (basic + DP)

so, original DA was 86% instead of 74%
Revised pay band fixation for employees on 01/01/06 as approved
Existing basic pay + 86% of existing basic pay.

For medical officer supposed basic pay was on 01/01/06 Rs.10000
NPA was on 01/01/06 Rs. 2500
50% DA on basic pay and original NPA was on 01/01/06( Rs.5000+Rs.1250)
=Rs. 6250 asDP
That (basic pay + DP) act as a new basic pay for medical officers
So, when calculation of 24%DA on new basic pay (basic pay + DP) for
medical officers, that was like (Rs.10000+Rs.6250)=Rs.16250 as new basic pay
then calculate NPA on that new basic pay(Rs.16250) for medical officers
24% DA was calculated on (new basic pay + NPA on that basic pay)
24% of (Rs.16250+Rs.4063=Rs.20313) was Rs. 4875
Total emoluments Rs.16250+Rs.4063 + Rs. 4875 = 25188

This was the same calculation when 50% DA merged with basic pay of medical officers on 01/01/06. Here the calculation will be 86%(74%DA) instead of 50% merged with basic pay of medical officers on 01/01/06.

So, revised pay band fixation for medical officers will be as,
1. Existing Scale of Pay Rs.10000-15200
2. Pay Band applicable PB-3 Rs.15600-39100
3. Existing basic pay as on 1.1.2006 Rs.10000
4 NPA on basic Rs.2500
5. 86% of (basic+NPA) Rs.10750
6. Revised pay in the pay band after adding 86%of (basic pay + NPA) on basic pay. Rs.10000+Rs.10750 =Rs. 20750
7. Pay in pay band attached to the scale Rs.20750
9. Grade Pay attached to the scale Rs.6600
10. Revised basic pay – total of pay in the pay band and grade pay Rs.27350
11. Revised NPA Rs.6838
