AICPIN for June'12 released, Central and Bank D.A. to increase as expected

All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of June, 2012 increased by 2 points and stood at 208 (two hundred eight).
7% increase in D.A. for central staff, 40 slabs hike for Bankers.

Consequent to this increase, Central employees are going to get a decent 7% hike in D.A. with effect from 1st July 2012.  With this increase (each 7% for the last three half year) the total D.A will reach 72% of Basic Pay.  Central employees will also be benefited in their transport allowance, which is D.A. linked.
(D.A. is generally announced in September)

DA for Bank Workmen/Officers are calculated based on average
Consumer Price Index Numbers (Base 1960=100) for the months of April, May
and June 2012.
Accordingly,the Average CPI  is as follows:
                    (Base 2001=100)                                  (base1960=100)
APRIL                  205                                                   4679.31
MAY                    206                                                   4702.14
JUNE                   208                                                   4747.79

Average CPI             4709.74
Less merged point    2836
                                   1873 .74
Slabs                           468 X0.15 =  70.20%
As such,there is  an increase of 40 slabs  over 428 with 70.20% of  DA from existing 64.20% w.e.f 1st August’12.

this is great.... but i've heard that DA will be removed in 10th BPS settlement...is dat true??
