12th January 2013 is a holiday in W.B under N.I Act

Banks to be closed in West Bengal on 12th January.
We have received a lot of queries regarding holiday of Swami Vivekananda's birthday on 12th January in West Bengal. It is being informed that 12th January 2013 has been declared holiday in West Bengal under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 and therefore Banks, LIC and other institutions who follow the respective state N.I act holidays, will remain close on 12th January 2013.
The state Govt has notified this long before, on 10th Dec 2012.
