Tamilnadu issued revised order for pension as per Supreme Court order

The long-awaited government order announcing the revised pension for State government employees has finally arrived.
The State government has issued the order pertaining to revision in the pension for those employees who retired between June 1, 1988 and December 31, 1995 based on the Fourth Tamil Nadu Pay Commission pay scales. This follows orders passed by the Supreme Court of India directing the State government to implement the revision in January this year.

Govt. clarifies it's stand about merger of D.A. and 7th pay Commission

The 6th pay comission had recommended not to merge 50 per cent of Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees with their basic pay, Parliament was informed today. 

"The  6th pay comission had recommended not to merge Dearness Allowance with basic pay at any stage," Minister of State for Finance Mr N.N.. Meena said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. 

Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) July 2013

According to a press release issued today by the Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment the All-India CPI-IW for July, 2013 rose by 4 points and pegged at 235 (two hundred and thirty five). On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 1.73 per cent between June and July compared with 1.92 per cent between the same two months a year ago.

BSNL salary will be equal to MTNL in 2017

Govt to bring parity between pay scales of MTNL, BSNL

The Government has decided to bring parity between the pay scales of employees at Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd with their counterparts in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. This will be done at the time of next wage revision in 2017.
At present, MTNL workers get higher pay compared to BSNL employees.

Kerala Govt. has sanctioned 25% of salary in advance to it's employees for the month of September 2013 on account of Onam festival. The amount will be disbursed to the willing employees between 11 and 13 of September and will be adjusted towards normal salary payment at the end of the month.

CBEC cadre review : After secretaries approval, what next?

The CBEC cadre review proposal has been approved by the committee of secretaries. Now the question is "will it pass through the 'Group of Ministers' and finally be approved by the cabinet ?" The CBDT cadre review followed this way. But sources indicated that as the committee of secretaries did not made any major change in the proposal, it is not required to go to the 'Group of Ministers'. The cabinet note is likely to be prepared within a couple of days and the file will be sent for cabinet approval. It is expected that the proposal will be cleared by the cabinet by 13th September.

Will West Bengal release D.A. before the festive season ?

West Bengal state employees are eagerly waiting for announcement of fresh installment of Dearness Allowance. At present the employees are getting 52% of D.A. with effect from 01.01.2013. The central employees and almost all state Govt. employees are being paid @80% from 01.01.2013. The central Govt. is going to announce fresh installment of Dearness Allowance @10% from 01.07.2013 next month. With this, the difference will be 38% and it will be hard to digest by the state employees. Already considerable protest for D.A. is mounting up. Rumors in the corridor of power is that, the state Govt. will announce fresh installment of D.A. before the festive season. Let us wait and see whether it comes true !

SAIL wage talk finished inconclusive

A meeting between SAIL management and workers' representatives to discuss issues related wage revision for non-executives ended inconclusive today. 

The meet that lasted nearly five hours failed to arrive at a decision, dashing hopes of 85,000 employees for an early resolution on revision of in basic pay and DA.

CBI to probe fake LTC claims of Govt./PSU employees

The CBI has been called in by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to investigate a widespread racket in claims of LTC involving central government and public sector employees as well as travel agents.The CBI, which was asked on August 16 by CVC to carry out a criminal investigation, is likely to question dozens of such employees. Large sums are said to have been siphoned out of the government by producing fake Air India tickets and boarding passes (the only airline that government and PSU employees are allowed to use for LTC).

CBEC cadre review update

It is learnt from sources that the Committee of Secretaries will meet on 27th August to discuss the Cadre review proposal of Customs and Central Excise. After being cleared by the committee, it will go to cabinet for final clearance. As the F.M. assured about early discussion in the cabinet, it is expected that Secretaries will approve it soon.

No move to hike central retirement age : PTI

 There is raging speculation that the Centre may raise the retirement age of its staff but top sources say there is no such move.
"There is no such plan to raise the retirement age to 62 from 60 years," a reliable source in the government said.

Likely salary of Bank Officers, Clerks and Substaffs after 10th BPS

W.B. school teachers' general transfer to be started soon

General transfer for West Bengal school teachers is all set to begin. Most likely it will be implemented by Nov/Dec this year. Governor has accorded assent to the bill and the necessary gazette notification has also been published. SSC Chairman Mr C.R. Mondal informed media that the proposal has been sent to school education dept. and after Govt. endorsement, it will be operational. It is also informed by sources that female teachers and those with child under 10 years of age will be given priority for transfer.

On the occasion of State Level 67th Independence Day celebration, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh announced 8 percent Additional Dearness Allowance to  the employees and pensioners of the State Government. It will be implemented with immediate effect.

Chhattisgarh increased retirement age of state employees

Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Raman Singh today announced his government's decision to increase the retirement age for its employees from 60 to 62 years and pay a paddy bonus of Rs 270 per quintal to the farmers every year.
"The benefit of the enhanced age of retirement made effective from the current month, would be extended to the employees of all Municipal Corporations, boards, state government undertakings and panchayats," Dr Singh announced during his Independence Day addressat the Police Parade Ground here.

No mention of retirement age in I Day speech

Despite wide speculation and media reports PM's Independence Day address from Red Fort did not include anything about hike in the retirement age of Central Govt. employees. Millions of Govt. employees all over the country was looking for this announcement but they will certainly wait for some more time to get their desire fulfilled.

Central workers expecting hike in retirement age, waiting for PM's I Day speech

As per the latest media report, DOPT has finalized the draft proposal in this regard on Monday. The Prime Minister is likely to announce the increase in retirement age for central employees on hie Independence Day speech before the election in five states to be announced most probably in the next month.
One lakh ten thousand central employees retire every year and this move can certainly provide some financial relief to the Govt. as the retirement dues can be held back for two more years.
So central employees are keeping their finger crossed and eagerly waiting for the PM's speech.

"Another round of bipartite talks took place today(12.08.13) in Mumbai between IBA and UFBU on our demands for wage revision. IBA was represented by their Negotiating Committee led by its Chairman Shri T M Bhasin. UFBU was represented by all our nine constituent unions. The meeting condoled the death of Com. R J Sridharan, Chairman, AIBOA, who was in the negotiating committee till 9th Bipartite Wage Revision.

PTI confirms Central D.A. from July'13 @10%, announcement likely next month

New Delhi, Aug 4 (PTI) Government is likely to announce a hike in dearness allowance to 90 per cent from existing 80 per cent in September, benefiting about 50 lakh central employees and 30 lakh pensioners ahead of the festival season.

According to official sources, the preliminary assessment suggests that dearness allowance hike will be in the range of 10-11 per cent and would be effective from July 1 this year.

IBA released circular for Bank employees' and pensioners' D.A. from August'13

IBA issued circular for increase of D.A. for bank officers and employees for August, September and October 2013. As informed earlier, employees will get 32 slabs increase in D.A. from 1st Aug'13.

IBA also issued circular for Dearness Relief payable to bank pensioners for the period of Aug'13 to Jan'14. Pensioners retired after 1.11.2007 will get D.R @ 88.95% of basic pension. Those retired after 01.11.2002 and before 1.11.2007 will get D.R. @131.40% of basic pension.

Pre 2006 pensioners to get arrears from 01.01.2006

The Supreme Court has dismissed the SLP (Civil) 23055/2013 filed by Union of India against Delhi High Court judgement in pre-2006 pensioners casein WP 1535/2012 upholding the CAT PB judgement and Delhi High Court judgement. The above SLP came up for hearing on 29/7/2013 and the apex court dismissed the SLP on the same day. Pensioners will now get arrears w.e.f. 1/1/2006 if their revised pension was fixed at less than 50% percent of the minimum of the pay in the pay band including grade pay thereon in the revised scale corresponding  to the pre-revised pay scale from which the pensioner has retired.


JUDGEMENT :
UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following order :“We are not inclined to interfere with the order passed by the High Court. Consequently, the special leave petitions are dismissed. However, the petitioners are at liberty to raise all points before the Tribunal as and when the appeal”.
