Attendance of Govt. employees to be tracked online !

In what could be a revolutionary step towards monitoring and tracking the work of government officials, the NDA government has launched an “attendance website” to serve as a centralised database for all central government employees.

Though the website, attendance.gov.in, is still in the process of being developed, officials said it is expected to be modelled on the lines of similar websites of the Jharkhand government and the Department of Electronics and Information Technology.

All Group A, B and C Central Govt. employees to furnish property statement by 15th Sep'14

All Group A, B and C Employees have to file Declaration of Assets and Liabilities under Lokpal Act.  It is also instructed by DOPT that public servants who either failed or were not required to file the annual declarations as per the applicable rules [eg. Group C’ Government servants covered under CCS(Conduct) rules, 1964] are also required to file the stipulated declaration/ information/return within time. 
In this regard DOPT issued a clarification on 25.08.2014.

EPF Interest Rate Retained at 8.75 Per Cent for 2014-15

 The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on Tuesday announced a rate of interest of 8.75 per cent on provident fund deposits for the current fiscal year (2014-15), a move which would benefit its over five crore subscribers across the country.

The decision to retain the interest rate at 8.75 per cent was taken at a meeting of the Central Board of Trustees - the apex decision making body of EPFO - chaired by Labour Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in Delhi.

"EPFO will provide 8.75 per cent rate of interest on PF deposits for 2014-15," Mr Tomar told reporters after the meeting.

As per practice, the decision by retirement fund body EPFO's trustees would be implemented after the concurrence of the Finance Ministry.

Karnataka to form seventh pay commission

Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said that the state government is positively inclined to constitute seventh pay commission for state government employees in addition to providing various facilities to them on the lines of central government. 

Addressing state level government employees conference here, he said the employees are demanding the government to constitute new pay commission, but you should know that state government has implemented the recommendations of the sixth pay commission in 2012 and there is time till 2017 for constitution of the new pay commission.

No Credit/Debit Card or Netbanking facility, still online rail ticket booking may be possible

Looking to tap into the large mass of passengers that do not have  access to internet banking or debit cards, a pilot project for cash on delivery of train tickets will start next month from Delhi. Within six months, the service will be extended to over 150 cities.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has tied up with a private player for ‘e-dakiya’ cash on delivery services on a separate portal, bookmytrain.com.

11th September 2014       -      Submission of the Charter of Demands along with a brief Note to all heads of offices by arranging demonstration in front of all offices; the branch level/district/divisional/state level leaders will explain the demands especially the memorandums on interim relief, DA merger and GDS issues.
19th September 2014       -      Dharna between 10 AM to 3 PM at all important state/districts/divisional centres.
25th September 2014       -      Dharna between 10 AM to 3 PM at New Delhi with participation of the leaders of all affiliates and the members working in the city of Delhi (at a central place-to be decided by the Confederation Delhi State committee).

Confederation office Bearers will meet again at Delhi on 26.09.2014, 5 PM to decide further course of action.

Female bank employees may soon get transfers of their choice

Female employees of public sector banks will soon be entitled to a major benefit of getting transfers of their choice. The Finance Ministry has asked the banks to formulate women-friendly transfer policies so that they can get transfers at places where their husbands are working or parents are living.
The Department of Financial Services, sources said, has asked Public Sector Banks (PSBs) to formulate transfer and posting polices in such way so as to minimise “hardship” of women employees.
“It has been decided to accommodate as far as possible placement/transfer of married employees, on her request, at a place where her husband is stationed or as near as possible to that place or vice versa,” said a communication of the Department to head to PSBs.

Bonanza for Haryana staff, retirement age hiked

In a bid to beat anti-incumbency ahead of the Assembly elections in Haryana, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today unveiled a bonanza for the state government employees, which includes raising the retirement age from 58 to 60 years and 25 per cent hike in DA and full pension after 20 years’ service.
Hooda’s announcement came after he met representatives of the Haryana Karamchari Mahasangh and Sarv Karamchari Sangh a day before the state Cabinet meet.

Himachal Pradesh announced 10% D.A. on I day

The Chief Minister announced a lot of welfare measures including a 10% hike in D.A. for Govt. employees and pensioners with effect from 1st January 2014. The increased pay will be added to September's pay while the arrears will be credited to GPF. With this, H.P. employees will get D.A. at par with their central counterparts.

Goa employees strike from Monday, Govt. takes tough stand : "No work, No pay"

Taking a serious view of the strike called by the Goa Government Employees Association (GGEA) for pen-down-tool-down strike on Monday, the Goa government on Friday warned that all the employees who participate in this illegal strike or found not discharging their assigned duties during the strike period, shall be treated as absent.
The principle of “no work no pay” will be invoked in all such cases of unauthorized absence and the action will be taken as per Rules, warned a spokesperson of Goa government in Panaji on Friday.

Kerala Pay Commission likely to explore possibilities of contributory health scheme

The 10th pay commission of Kerala, scheduled to begin its formal sitting soon, is likely to explore possibilities of enhancing health care coverage of government employees and pensioners. 

The pay commission chairman Justice C N Ramachandran Nair said the agency would consider a scheme similar to the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) that takes care of the needs of Central government employees but warned, "We have been asked to take into account the resource limitations of the state while making any recommendations''.
