One Rank One Pension : Announcement on I Day ?

In a what will be a major win for the almost three-million strong ex-servicemen and war widows, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may announce implementation of the long delayed One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme on August 15 when India celebrates its 68th Independence Day, said sources.

Agitating military veterans, on a relay hunger strike for the last 57 days, are now hoping that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the long-delayed implementation of one rank, one pension (OROP) from the ramparts of the Red Fort on August 15.

Some ex-servicemen say there "are concrete indications" that the government will announce OROP on Independence Day since "the file, after some heated disagreements between the finance and defence ministries, has finally reached the PMO".

Inputs from Times of India and other sources.

So many dates had been given for announcement in the past. Now it is 15.08.2015. God only knows whether it would be materialized this time.

A Repeat prescription :Government Sanction is the only material requirement for the purpose of implementation. The same principle applies to the accepted portion from the Seventh Pay commission.!!! Report will never carry any financial benefits all round!!!What is the difference between a report and the accepted version...
